About this project
For his 50th birthday Bertrand Goudenhooft wanted a “crazy” challenge. He found pictures of the Sun Trip online and ordered an Azub solar trike from Declic-Eco.

His recumbent trike has a Bafang crank motor plus an RH212 rear hub motor, three 48 V batteries of about 800 Wh each, and a trailer with three 300 W panels. The machine has already covered more than 20,000 km.
After riding the Corsica Sun Trip and the Sun Trip Alps with his wife, together with friends they called “Team Zero”, Bertrand set off alone on The Sun Trip 2024 – Destination Sahara: about 7,000 km in 44 days.
