Dirk Huyghe – Four Big Sun Trips on a Santos Travel Bike

About this project

Dirk Huyghe from Belgium holds a special place in Sun Trip history: he is one of the few who completed the three big Sun Trips of 2013, 2015 and 2018, and he started again in 2021.

In 2013 he finished without a solar panel after a fire in his trailer. In 2015 he rode with his friend Jan, and in 2018 he reached Canton in 77 days, ninth overall, riding with his friend Peter and later with Daniel Jenni.

His bike is a Santos Travelmaster 3+ with a Crystalyte motor, a 48 V 20 Ah battery and a one-wheel trailer with 300 W of solar by Project-Zero. He shares films of his trips on Vimeo.
