Laurent Souchet, an IT specialist, mainly used his bike to commute – an “ordinary bike commuter”, as he put it, but a good tinkerer convinced by solar. In 2018 he left his comfort zone for the Silk Road, rode a flawless race and reached Canton in 64 days, right on his target of 200 km a day. His bike is based on an Azub Six with a carbon Christian Touzé trailer, and he told the story in his book “Du vélotaf au Sun Trip”.
