Gilles Ratia took part in Sun Trip Alpes 2022 and Breizh Sun Trip 2021, the long-distance adventure on solar-powered bikes held since 2013.
The machine is a solar trike.
Gilles Ratia is a world traveller: a ten-year solo tour of 62 countries and 152,000 km, and 134 countries visited in total. After the Sun Trip Breizh 2021 he took on the Alps on a three-wheel-drive trike: the two front wheels run on 560 Wp of solar (including the trailer) via a 3.3 kWh battery, the rear wheel on “photosynthesis → food → muscles → Rohloff 14-speed”.
