About this project
Cécile Barbier-Gondras, an engineer and physics teacher, rides her bike every day. “I think recumbent bikes are the best way to get around, happily, without straining the body.” She added a small motor and a solar panel to hers, and then discovered the Sun Trip.

Her partner Victor-Emmanuel Gondras, R&D manager in renewable energy, first mounted a panel on a reworked trailer behind his 250 W upright e-bike. Then he switched to a recumbent and rebuilt a HP Velotechnik Street Machine with a double adjustable solar panel.
Together they rode the Sun Trip France 2020. Victor is convinced that light, electric and solar-powered vehicles can be developed, made profitable and mass-produced.
